A service dog for Cameron, an army veteran in Lafayette
After twelve years of service, Cameron is raising funds for a deposit on a one-bedroom apartment.

I served twelve years in the army and was discharged in 2023 with post-traumatic stress. I have been waiting nine months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place.
I have a plan: a deposit on a one-bedroom apartment. The quote I have comes to $3,750.
I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing.
Money will be paid to the training provider and the landlord directly.
Where the $3,750 goes:
• Training provider fees: $2,950
• Transport to appointments: $470
• Essential household items: $330
Thank you for reading my story.

shared this with my family. My brother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Thinking of Lafayette.
wishing you peace. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I have a 10 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Love from Hialeah.
