I served eight years in the infantry and was discharged in 2023 with post-traumatic stress. I have been waiting fourteen months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place.
I have a plan: a vocational welding course and tools. The quote I have comes to $650.
I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing.
I'll post invoices, with personal details hidden.
Where the $650 goes:
• Training provider fees: $250
• Housing deposit and first month: $310
• Transport to appointments: $65
• Essential household items: $25
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Good luck. It takes guts to ask. Well done. We're a small family in Hialeah but we're thinking of you. Thinking of Udaipur.
thanks for sharing this, Akash. This could happen to any of us. Thinking of Udaipur.
Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Akash!
Training provider fees is $250 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Appreciate you taking the time.
Stay strong, Akash. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier.
Wishing you the best, Akash. Hope this works out for you. All the best.
best of luck. Shared it with a few friends. Greetings from Salem
This could happen to any of us. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Greetings from Mexicali
