A sensory garden for children with autism: a volunteer-led effort in Brandon
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a sensory garden for children with autism - we need $2,900 for materials.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 11 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Baobab vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $2,900.
It will serve about 502 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in January and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,900 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $400
• Materials: $2,150
• Permits and inspections: $350
