A sensory garden for children with autism: a volunteer-led effort in Aurangabad
A community-led a sensory garden for children with autism at the old Harmony bus depot that will serve 436 neighbors.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Harmony bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $300.
It will serve about 436 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in March and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $300 goes:
• Materials: $175
• Tools hire and delivery: $45
• Safety equipment and signage: $80
