A sensory garden for children with autism: a volunteer-led effort in Nashik
Volunteers in Nashik are raising $300 for a sensory garden for children with autism at the Jacaranda vacant lot.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 13 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Jacaranda vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $300.
It will serve about 172 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $300 goes:
• Materials: $160
• Permits and inspections: $40
• Safety equipment and signage: $30
• Tools hire and delivery: $70
Thanks for reading all this.
