A sensory garden for children with autism: a volunteer-led effort in San Cristóbal de las Casas
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a sensory garden for children with autism - we need $850 for materials.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 21 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Sycamore Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $850.
It will serve about 192 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.

• Permits and inspections: $50
• Materials: $730
• Safety equipment and signage: $70
