A sensory garden for children with autism: a volunteer-led effort in Móstoles
Volunteers in Móstoles are raising $1,700 for a sensory garden for children with autism at Lotus Primary School.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Lotus Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $1,700.
It will serve about 114 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in June and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $1,700 goes:
• Materials: $1,300
• Safety equipment and signage: $350
• Permits and inspections: $50
Thank you so much.
