A rainwater harvesting system for Baobab Park: help our neighbors in Dublin
Volunteers in Dublin are raising $2,300 for a rainwater harvesting system at Baobab Park.
Anywhere in the world416 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 18 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Baobab Park, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $2,300.
It will serve about 218 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $2,300 goes:
• Materials: $1,650
• Permits and inspections: $125
• Safety equipment and signage: $310
• Tools hire and delivery: $215
With deep gratitude,
Saoirse

Is there anything that isn't money that would help Saoirse?
Thank you. If you're in Dublin I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Thanks for looking so closely.
Thanks for sharing this, Saoirse. More neighborhoods should do this. Thinking of Dublin.
Sending good thoughts. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. I hope November is when things finally get easier. Take care.
