A rainwater harvesting system: a volunteer-led effort in Philadelphia
Volunteers in Philadelphia are raising $3,500 for a rainwater harvesting system at Pioneer Primary School.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 23 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Pioneer Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $3,500.
It will serve about 401 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
