A rainwater harvesting system: a volunteer-led effort in Lahore

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 27 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus community hall, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $350. It will serve about 220 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in March and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $350 goes: • Materials: $250 • Permits and inspections: $20 • Safety equipment and signage: $25 • Tools hire and delivery: $55 If you're reading this, thank you. - Zara
