6th of October City
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 24 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $500. It will serve about 388 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $500 goes: • Materials: $380 • Permits and inspections: $40 • Safety equipment and signage: $15 • Tools hire and delivery: $65 Thanks for being kind about this. - Layla
