A fresh start in Montpellier: help the Haddad family resettle

After fleeing the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Haddad family has arrived in Montpellier with little more than their documents. They need help with a deposit, furniture and the first months.

Montpellier
My family left the Democratic Republic of Congo 5 months ago after the conflict closed our school and clinic. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Montpellier. We're a family of seven and we're safe, but we arrived with very little. Our resettlement agency has provided 4 months of rent, and that support ends in December. I was an engineer in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well. We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months. All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent). Where the $3,150 goes: • Rent deposit and first month: $1,100 • Beds, table and basic furniture: $770 • Winter clothing and school supplies: $580 • Language classes and bus passes: $590 • Phone and internet for school and job search: $110 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.
