A community-led a free library and reading room at the Union community hall that will serve 407 neighbors.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Union community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $500.
It will serve about 407 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $500 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $60
• Tools hire and delivery: $60
• Materials: $380
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
