A covered market stall space for the Liberty community hall: help our neighbors in Bakersfield
Volunteers in Bakersfield are raising $4,650 for a covered market stall space at the Liberty community hall.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 8 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Liberty community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $580, and the remaining cost is $4,650.
It will serve about 507 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $4,650 goes:
• Materials: $3,750
• Permits and inspections: $240
• Safety equipment and signage: $350
• Tools hire and delivery: $310
