A community garden for the Pioneer vacant lot: help our neighbors in Warsaw
Volunteers in Warsaw are raising $1,150 for a community garden at the Pioneer vacant lot.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Pioneer vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $1,150.
It will serve about 319 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in June and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $1,150 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $50
• Permits and inspections: $85
• Materials: $1,015
