A community garden for the Baobab vacant lot: help our neighbors in New Delhi
Volunteers in New Delhi are raising $500 for a community garden at the Baobab vacant lot.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 28 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Baobab vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $500.
It will serve about 388 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in June and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $500 goes:
• Materials: $340
• Permits and inspections: $50
• Safety equipment and signage: $35
• Tools hire and delivery: $75
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
