A community garden for Maple Park: help our neighbors in Jakarta
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community garden - we need $350 for materials.
🇮🇩 Indonesia1,272 views
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 14 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Maple Park, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $350.
It will serve about 172 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $350 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $20
• Permits and inspections: $45
• Materials: $285
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
Updates from Vino
Thank you all. We're at 99% now ($345). I'm honestly stunned. I met with the suppliers and confirmed the amounts.
