A community garden: a volunteer-led effort in Mississauga
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community garden - we need $2,650 for materials.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 16 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Sycamore bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $2,650.
It will serve about 594 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in April and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,650 goes:
• Materials: $1,550
• Permits and inspections: $330
• Safety equipment and signage: $290
• Tools hire and delivery: $480
