A community fridge for the Baobab vacant lot: help our neighbors in Casablanca
Volunteers in Casablanca are raising $700 for a community fridge at the Baobab vacant lot.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 21 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Baobab vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $700.
It will serve about 409 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in April and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $700 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $70
• Materials: $570
• Permits and inspections: $60
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Hang in there, Ziad. Gave what I could, wish it was more.
