A community fridge for the Acacia health centre yard: help our neighbors in Christchurch
A community-led a community fridge at the Acacia health centre yard that will serve 319 neighbors.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 30 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Acacia health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $750.
It will serve about 319 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in January and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $750 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $310
• Safety equipment and signage: $135
• Tools hire and delivery: $305
