I taught art at Acacia Grammar School in Amsterdam from 2017 to 2025. Most days I taught Grade 11, and I wrote a short note to every student at the end of term.
Over the years I had 290 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
More about Marieke
Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the national park, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.
