In December I was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer. My oncology team at Mansoura Regional Medical Center has planned 6 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in March. I was told to expect about 3 weeks away from work. I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 29, I worked as a cleaner at a hospital until December, and I have been the main earner for my household. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to Mansoura Regional Medical Center 4 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly. My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $1,100 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $820 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $70 • Scans and lab work: $210 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support. - Zakaria
