Yewande is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a diploma in hospitality management at Lagos University, and is one term away from graduating. She has worked as a shop assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $1,000.
The registrar has said Yewande can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Yewande has a distinction average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Yewande would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Yewande isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $1,000 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $460
• Final term tuition: $500
• Exam and lab fees: $20
• Textbooks and materials: $20

Rooting for you, Sade. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I went through something like this 2 years ago and strangers helped me out. Greetings from Sheffield.
Keep going. Shared this with my family. My cousin had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Love from Nairobi
You're not alone, Sade. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. I'm in engineering myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you.
Wishing you peace, Sade. Study hard! Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.
Hope things get better soon, Sade. Hope this works out for you. Thinking of Lagos.
