Weekly meals for families and seniors in Richards Bay
The the Sunday Shelf pantry in Richards Bay is running low just as demand rises; $450 will stock it for 9 weeks.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run the Sunday Shelf every Tuesday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 15 families, and now we feed 148 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 45% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 15 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Richards Bay market and keep every receipt.
Each $15 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $450 goes:
• Refrigeration and electricity: $25
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $240
• Baby formula and diapers: $185
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
