The Bread & Beans Kitchen pantry in Bari is running low just as demand rises; $1,200 will stock it for 8 weeks.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Thursday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 10 families, and now we feed 94 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 31% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 12 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Bari market and keep every receipt.
Each $25 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $1,200 goes:
• Baby formula and diapers: $350
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $730
• Refrigeration and electricity: $120
