Victoria is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying an accounting degree at Sheffield Polytechnic, and is two terms away from graduating. She has worked as a barista to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $4,550.
The registrar has said Victoria can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Victoria has a 3.9 average, and a department head has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Victoria would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Victoria isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
