I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a pharmacy diploma at Mumbai State College, and I'm two terms away from graduating. I have worked as a night-shift cleaner to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $450. The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a 3.9 average, and my faculty supervisor has written in support of my application for a payment plan. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility. I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student. Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees. Where the $450 goes: • Exam and lab fees: $20 • Outstanding tuition balance: $390 • Textbooks and materials: $40 Glad we found this place.

  • I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I'm in customer support myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Greetings from Pasig.

    • Wishing you peace, Varsha. Your post was clear and honest. My brother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Thinking of Mumbai.

      • Take care. Study hard! My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Take care.
