Yamuna was diagnosed with endometriosis requiring surgery in July. The surgeon at Thiruvananthapuram Regional Medical Center recommended valve repair surgery, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,500, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $1,050 short. my wife has been in and out of Thiruvananthapuram Regional Medical Center since July. The doctors say endometriosis requiring surgery will get worse without valve repair surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,500 is more than we can find. While we wait, Yamuna struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Recovery is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Yamuna won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing. I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section. Where the $1,050 goes: • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $440 • Hospital stay (2 nights): $270 • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $85 • Post-operative medication: $35 • Physiotherapy sessions: $135 • Travel and lodging for the family: $85 If you're reading this, thank you. - Jagadish
