Shilpa is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a degree in civil engineering at Mumbai University, and is one term away from graduating. She has worked as a barista to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $450. The registrar has said Shilpa can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Shilpa has a distinction average, and a professor has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Shilpa would lose her place and scholarship eligibility. Shilpa isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student. The payment will go directly to the Mumbai University bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $450 goes: • Exam and lab fees: $50 • Final term tuition: $390 • Textbooks and materials: $10 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
