Luke is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying an agriculture degree at San Diego University, and is one term away from graduating. He has worked as a night-shift cleaner to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $5,250.
The registrar has said Luke can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Luke has a 3.8 average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Luke would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Luke isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
