Intan is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a degree in social work at Jakarta Community College, and is one semester away from graduating. She has worked as a library assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $550.
The registrar has said Intan can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Intan has a 3.9 average, and an academic advisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Intan would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Intan isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Jakarta Community College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $550 goes:
• Final term tuition: $480
• Textbooks and materials: $60
• Exam and lab fees: $10

The list at the bottom is the whole picture. final term tuition is the biggest at $480. Thanks for asking.
