Fatima is two terms away from finishing a law degree but is blocked from enrolling by an unpaid balance of $600.

I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a law degree at Ikeja University, and I'm two terms away from graduating. I have worked as a delivery rider to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $600. The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a distinction average, and my academic advisor has written in support of my application for a payment plan. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility. I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student. The payment will go directly to the Ikeja University bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $600 goes: • Outstanding tuition balance: $220 • Final term tuition: $300 • Exam and lab fees: $45 • Textbooks and materials: $35 Thanks for being kind about this.

Updates from Fatima

  1. Quick update: $299 raised so far (50%). I made the first payment toward exam and lab fees. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.

  2. Wanted to say thank you properly. 41% funded and I made the first payment toward exam and lab fees.

  3. Good news. Because of your gifts ($96 in total) the plan for exam and lab fees is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

Stay strong. Shared it with a few friends. After 26 years in nursing I know how hard it's to ask for anything. God bless.
