Auckland
Aurora is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a law degree at Auckland Community College, and is one term away from graduating. She has worked as a shop assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $4,000. The registrar has said Aurora can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Aurora has a top-ten-percent average, and a department head has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Aurora would lose her place and scholarship eligibility. Aurora isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student. Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees. Where the $4,000 goes: • Textbooks and materials: $240 • Outstanding tuition balance: $1,200 • Final term tuition: $2,560 Thank you so much. - Sebastian

Sending strength. This could happen to any of us. After 11 years in customer support I know how hard it's to ask for anything

      • Is there anything that isn't money that would help Aurora?

Thank you. If you're in Auckland I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Thanks for looking so closely.

      • Take care. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. Blessings.

        • thinking of you and your family, Sebastian. This could happen to any of us. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.
