Toru's final semester of a law degree in Tokyo
Toru has worked and saved for three years to study a law degree; a $1,900 gap now stands between him and graduation.

I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a law degree at the Tokyo Institute of Technology, and I'm two terms away from graduating. I have worked as a warehouse packer to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $1,900.
The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a top-ten-percent average, and my professor has written in support of my application for a payment plan.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility.
I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the the Tokyo Institute of Technology bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $1,900 goes:
• Exam and lab fees: $115
• Outstanding tuition balance: $1,450
• Textbooks and materials: $335

You're not alone, Toru. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn.
Is there anything that isn't money that would help Toru?
Thanks for sharing this. I hope things turn around soon. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. All the best!
So sorry you're going through this, Toru. Your post was clear and honest. God bless.
You're not alone, Toru. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. God bless.
