A first-generation student, Tomás needs help covering tuition for the final stretch of an accounting degree.

Tomás is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying an accounting degree at Bogotá Polytechnic, and is one term away from graduating. He has worked as a night-shift cleaner to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $1,050.
The registrar has said Tomás can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Tomás has a top-ten-percent average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Tomás would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Tomás isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $1,050 goes:
• Exam and lab fees: $65
• Textbooks and materials: $85
• Outstanding tuition balance: $900

Sending good thoughts, Mauricio. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Thinking of Bogotá.
I hope things turn around soon. I went through something like this 6 years ago and strangers helped me out. Thinking of Bogotá.
sending strength, Mauricio. Study hard! We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Take care.
