The Sycamore vacant lot needs a youth football pitch - Devi's neighborhood project

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 23 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Sycamore vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $850. It will serve about 374 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $850 goes: • Materials: $590 • Permits and inspections: $75 • Safety equipment and signage: $40 • Tools hire and delivery: $145 Glad we found this place.
