The Pioneer health centre yard needs a rainwater harvesting system - Hassan's neighborhood project
A community-led a rainwater harvesting system at the Pioneer health centre yard that will serve 404 neighbors.
🇪🇬 Aswan, Egypt864 views
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 8 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Pioneer health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $300.
It will serve about 404 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $300 goes:
• Materials: $220
• Permits and inspections: $15
• Tools hire and delivery: $65
Thank you so much.
