A community-led a sensory garden for children with autism at the old Pioneer bus depot that will serve 330 neighbors.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Pioneer bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $550.
It will serve about 330 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $550 goes:
• Materials: $380
• Permits and inspections: $40
• Safety equipment and signage: $35
• Tools hire and delivery: $95
