For five years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 28 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Liberty bus depot, but no funding. We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $550. It will serve about 155 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $550 goes: • Materials: $430 • Permits and inspections: $35 • Safety equipment and signage: $45 • Tools hire and delivery: $40 Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure. - Mercy
