The old Cedar bus depot needs a community garden - Agnès's neighborhood project

We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community garden - we need $1,500 for materials.

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 20 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Cedar bus depot, but no funding. We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $770, and the remaining cost is $1,500. It will serve about 191 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $1,500 goes: • Safety equipment and signage: $105 • Permits and inspections: $160 • Materials: $1,235 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
