The Lotus vacant lot needs a community fridge - Adaeze's neighborhood project

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 8 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $600. It will serve about 206 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $600 goes: • Materials: $440 • Permits and inspections: $40 • Safety equipment and signage: $45 • Tools hire and delivery: $75 Glad we found this place. - Adaeze
