The Lotus community hall needs a playground - Pamela's neighborhood project
Volunteers in Yonkers are raising $3,050 for a playground at the Lotus community hall.

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 19 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $3,050.
It will serve about 373 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in June and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $3,050 goes:
• Materials: $2,200
• Permits and inspections: $140
• Safety equipment and signage: $290
• Tools hire and delivery: $420
