My family left Ethiopia 13 months ago after we could no longer live safely. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Dhaka. We're a family of five and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 4 months of rent, and that support ends in October.
I was a teacher in Ethiopia, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent).
Where the $400 goes:
• Rent deposit and first month: $160
• Beds, table and basic furniture: $80
• Winter clothing and school supplies: $60
• Language classes and bus passes: $85
• Phone and internet for school and job search: $15
I hope life is good to you.

Wishing you the best, Masud. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Take care.
