My family left Somalia 6 months ago after the war reached our town. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Boulogne-Billancourt. We're a family of four and we're safe, but we arrived with very little. Our resettlement agency has provided 3 months of rent, and that support ends in July. I was a nurse in Somalia, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well. We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months. All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent). Where the $1,900 goes: • Language classes and bus passes: $310 • Phone and internet for school and job search: $125 • Winter clothing and school supplies: $340 • Rent deposit and first month: $1,125 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
