The Freedom vacant lot needs a youth football pitch - Daniel's neighborhood project

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 20 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Freedom vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $450. It will serve about 468 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $450 goes: • Materials: $310 • Permits and inspections: $30 • Safety equipment and signage: $50 • Tools hire and delivery: $60 Glad we found this place. - Daniel
