The Bakr family fled Somalia - help them rebuild in Mississauga
Help a family of 3 start their new life in Mississauga: furniture, rent deposit and language classes.

My family left Somalia 12 months ago after the conflict closed our school and clinic. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Mississauga. We're a family of seven and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 2 months of rent, and that support ends in August.
I was a farmer in Somalia, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
Funds are managed by the Mississauga Refugee Support Network, a registered organization, which pays the landlord and suppliers on the family's behalf.
Where the $2,200 goes:
โข Phone and internet for school and job search: $200
โข Winter clothing and school supplies: $300
โข Beds, table and basic furniture: $1,300
โข Language classes and bus passes: $400
Glad we found this place.
