After fleeing Iraq, the Bakr family has arrived in Jimma with little more than their documents. They need help with a deposit, furniture and the first months.

Jimma
My family left Iraq 9 months ago after we could no longer live safely. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Jimma. We're a family of eight and we're safe, but we arrived with very little. Our resettlement agency has provided 2 months of rent, and that support ends in November. I was a nurse in Iraq, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well. We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months. All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent). Where the $400 goes: • Winter clothing and school supplies: $40 • Rent deposit and first month: $210 • Language classes and bus passes: $40 • Beds, table and basic furniture: $110 Glad we found this place.

Winter clothing and school supplies is $40 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Thanks, that means a lot.
