The Acacia vacant lot needs a rainwater harvesting system - Sathi's neighborhood project

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 24 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Acacia vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $450. It will serve about 312 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in June and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $450 goes: • Materials: $330 • Permits and inspections: $20 • Safety equipment and signage: $40 • Tools hire and delivery: $60 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
