The Acacia vacant lot needs a community garden - Carolina's neighborhood project
Volunteers in São Paulo are raising $1,050 for a community garden at the Acacia vacant lot.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 13 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Acacia vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $1,050.
It will serve about 128 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $1,050 goes:
• Materials: $780
• Permits and inspections: $95
• Safety equipment and signage: $90
• Tools hire and delivery: $85
Every share and every dollar helps.
