My family left Iraq 5 months ago after we could no longer live safely. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Brest. We're a family of eight and we're safe, but we arrived with very little. Our resettlement agency has provided 2 months of rent, and that support ends in November. I was a nurse in Iraq, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well. We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months. All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent). Where the $3,350 goes: • Rent deposit and first month: $2,100 • Beds, table and basic furniture: $650 • Language classes and bus passes: $380 • Phone and internet for school and job search: $220 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

    Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Thierry.

      Sure. The biggest one is rent deposit and first month, $2,100. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Fair thing to want to know.
